Mission Statement

Deep Root Dance is a collective of San Francisco Bay Area-based modern dance choreographers, performers, and teachers
committed to deeply investigative dance. We support and promote the individual pursuits of our members through a network of
shared resources, workshops, and collectively- produced performances. Deep Root Dance seeks to engage Bay Area audiences in
dialogue about the art-making process via low-cost performances and workshops to make modern dance intellectually and visually
accessible to our community.
